On July 1st, AltTester® subscriptions are getting a price increase. I wanted to share a bit of context before the pricing page goes live, because there’s a bit of a story behind it.
A lot has happened on the product side this past year. We shipped the AI Extension with the MCP server, then the WebSocket secure server, and now the CLI, alongside a new set of AI skills for automation. The CLI lets you run tests entirely from your terminal or CI pipeline, no GUI needed. A lot of what sits underneath these features involves serious AI research and integration work. The prices hadn’t moved since 2024, and it made sense to bring them in line with where the product actually is today.
If you’re on a yearly Pro subscription for the Non-GPL SDK and your 2026 renewal falls after July 1st, you’ll receive a loyalty discount on your first renewal at the new price. We’ll share the details by email.
There’s also a change to the subscription structure worth knowing about.
When teams came to us needing more than Pro but not quite everything Enterprise covered, we’d put together something in between, rather than asking them to pay for engines and add-ons they didn’t need. It was always a conversation, and a useful one. But it was only happening for the clients who knew to reach out. With the new model, we wanted to make that process more visible. Enterprise is now “Customize your Pro”. AltTester® Pro is the foundation, and the add-ons that used to be bundled with Enterprise are now clearly listed on the website, so every team can see what’s available. That said, this isn’t a self-service configurator. We still work through it together with each team to make sure the setup actually makes sense for them.
The add-ons cover the things that tend to come up most in those conversations: multiple connection packages for teams running parallel test pipelines or multiplayer scenarios, priority support with a 24h response time in a private Slack or Discord channel, consoles coverage (currently Nintendo Switch™ coverage, other consoles coming soon), training and workshops, test automation services, custom engine support, and the option to discuss feature requests directly. Some teams need one or two of these. Some need several. The point is you’re not paying for a bundle built around someone else’s needs.
One more thing: the AltTester® Community plan is being renamed AltTester® Lite in July. Nothing changes for eligible users, just the name. Community isn’t going anywhere, though. It’s just moving to where it always belonged, because everyone using AltTester® is part of it.
And if you’re wondering whether the AltTester® Lite plan applies to you, it’s available on request for studios with annual revenue under €500k (see what we mean here).
Either way, if you have questions about what any of this means for your team, reach out. Happy to help figure it out.
