AltTester® 2.2.2 is now available: BrowserStack on mobile, FindObjectFromObject, Recorder enhancement, and more

Twenty-twenty-five started on a roll with lots of things to dive into. Our team has been working on some fine-tuning tasks to keep AltTester® as your reliable and efficient go-to solution for game testing. From fixing bugs and solving some connectivity issues to adding some new features, let’s go through our key updates for the release of AltTester® 2.2.2.

AltTester® Unity SDK enhancements

New command: FindObjectFromObject

  • This new command helps locate child objects within a hierarchy that meet specific search conditions. It simplifies and speeds up the process of finding elements in complex object trees.

BrowserStack connectivity fix

  • Resolved an issue preventing connections when using an instrumented build on Android or iOS with a non-GPL Unity SDK package. Testing on BrowserStack is now seamless.

AltTester® Desktop updates

Floating point values bug fix

  • Addressed a recorder bug where commands with floating point values caused errors in specific regions. (Thanks to the Turkish user who reported this issue!)

Unreal Engine click bug fix

  • Fixed a bug causing issues with desktop clicks in screenshots when testing on Unreal Engine.

Recorder enhancements

  • Locator definitions are now placed at the start of the generated script, promoting better alignment with Page Object Model (POM) principles.

Disconnection improvements

  • Enhanced driver-server communication by adding the reconnection feature.

AltTester® Unreal SDK updates

Input Visualizer

  • Introduced an input visualizer feature, making input testing on Unreal more intuitive.

Documentation updates

  • The documentation has been updated to reflect these changes, ensuring you have all the necessary information at your fingertips.

These changes aim to enhance security and ensure the best experience for professional users.
