We are excited to officially release AltTester® Unity SDK 2.2.6, a version that brings significant improvements to usability and performance. This update includes a complete rework of the Input Simulation system, Unity Cloud support, and several bug fixes and enhancements designed to make your testing and debugging smoother.
What’s new in this release
Reworked the Input Simulation system
We’ve completely rebuilt the Input Simulation system, both the old and the new versions, to make it more reliable and flexible.
This major update fixes several bugs, including one where the AltTester® Prefab was not correctly set when instrumenting your application.
Unity Cloud support
You can now instrument and build your application directly with Unity Cloud, overcoming one of the key limitations from earlier versions. This makes it easier to integrate AltTester® into your CI/CD pipelines and streamline your automated testing workflows. For more setup information, check out the documentation.
New Log Panel and pop-up options
We have added a Log Panel that allows you to view in-game logs during runtime, a big step forward for debugging and monitoring the app’s behavior while testing. Additionally, you now choose whether to show or hide the green pop-up at runtime, giving you more control over your test environment.
Bug fixes
This release also addresses several issues reported by our users:
- Fixed WebGL builds compatibility in Unity 6.
- Fixed the FindObjectAtCoordinates issue.
- Added missing dependencies that previously caused build interruptions.
- Fixed multiple iOS build issues to ensure smoother cross-platform automation.
Small improvements
- Reformatted DefaultTestExample for a clearer, more intuitive class structure.
- Added documentation and examples for Notifications, to help you better understand and use this feature in your test setups.
How this update impacts your workflow
The 2.2.6 release for the AltTester Unity SDK aims to reduce friction as much as possible in the testing workflow, from making builds work seamlessly with Unity Cloud to improve visibility into runtime behavior.
With a stronger Input Simulation system and expanded debugging tools, we’re bringing you a more reliable and flexible testing experience that scales with your development workflow.
