[Update 2022] AltUnity Tester becomes AltTester Unity SDK starting with v. 1.8.0 and similarly, AltUnity Inspector becomes AltTester Desktop starting with v. 1.5.0 and they are both available here.
This comes with a series of major changes:
1. AltTester Unity SDK is now available only through our website and is no longer available on the Unity Asset Store
2. We moved the AltTester Unity SDK project from GitLab to GitHub.
Following the support of the new Input System, AltUnity Tester 1.7.2 is here to enhance the test automation experience with features related to the same area. Check below what’s new in this release!
Input Visualizer for the new Input System
Visualizing mouse interaction with your game is particularly effective during test debugging. It shows you where the cursor moves while the tests run, providing the opportunity to check whether the input actions behave the way you thought they would.
While the previous version of AltUnity Tester offered support for input visualizing for Unity’s old Input Manager, one of the current version’s notable characteristics is the support for input visualizing when using the new Input System.
PressKeys() with the new Input System
PressKeys() was already part of the AltUnity Driver commands, simulating old Input Manager events. In this release, whether or not you work with the new Input System, the PressKeys() comes in handy for testing the input interaction with your game.
Movable AltUnity logo
Restarting the server within your instrumented game can become a must in certain scenarios. An early feature of the AltUnity logo was to show the popup containing connection related information and to make it possible to restart the server.
As helpful as this feature can be, sometimes the logo is displayed over a specific game object, making it difficult or even impossible to interact with the object beneath. To avoid cases of this kind, we made the AltUnity logo movable, allowing you to drag it anywhere on the screen.
Improvements and bug fixes
- The CallComponentMethod() command has the ability from 1.7.2 version on to call private methods as well.
- Multiple bugs related to the documentation’s layout and content were fixed.
Make sure you are using the latest version of AltUnity Tester in order to benefit from all the new features and improvements. Download AltUnity Tester 1.7.2 from the Unity Asset Store!
